- 1969 - A Vostok-2M rocket fails to launch a Meteor weather satellite, due to an upper stage malfunction.
- 1973 - A Voskhod rocket launches a Zenit-2M spy satellite.
- 1985 - A Kosmos-3M launches a Parus navigation satellite.
- 1986 - A Long March 3 launches the STTW-1 communication satellite.
- 1986 - A Molniya-M launches an Oko missile defence satellite.
- 1987 - A Tsyklon-2 launches a RORSAT satellite.
- 1990 - The crew of Mir perform an EVA to test new equipment.
- 1992 - Space Shuttle Discovery begins its first ODMP refit.
- 1993 - Soyuz TM-15 lands, with two cosmonauts returning from Mir.
- 1996 - An Atlas IIAS launches Palapa-C1, a communication satellite.
- 2000 - A Soyuz-U rocket launches the Progress M1-1 spacecraft to reboost Mir.
- 2003 - Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrates during re-entry on mission STS-107, killing its crew of seven astronauts.
- 2011 - A Rokot / Briz-KM rocket failed to the Kosmos 2470 geodesy satellite into its planned orbit.
- 2013 - A Zenit-3SL rocket fails to launch Intelsat 27, crashing into the ocean near the launch pad.
