Mool Chand Sharma (born 4 April 1964) is an Indian politician, Member of Legislative Assembly and former Cabinet Minister, representing the Ballabhgarh constituency of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, He is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party.
Early life and education
Mool Chand Sharma was born on 4 April 1964 in the village of Sadpura near Faridabad, Haryana, India in a Sharma family. His father's name is Late Sh. Mithan Lal Sharma, and his mother's name is Chanderwati Sharma. He is married to Poonam Sharma and has one son, Naveen Sharma, and one daughter, Priya Sharma.
Sharma earned his Master’s degree in History from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, where he had also completed his Bachelor of Arts.
Political career
Mool Chand Sharma won the 2014 Haryana Legislative Assembly election as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party, defeating Sharda Rathore of the Indian National Congress.
In 2019, he was re-elected and appointed as the Cabinet Minister of Transport in the Government of Haryana under CM Sh Manohar Lal Khattar. In addition, he held the portfolios of Mines & Geology, Higher Education, and Elections.
Later in 2019, he again took oath as a Cabinet Minister in the government of Chief Minister Nayab Saini, holding the portfolios of Higher Education, Labour, and Food & Supply.
In 2024, Sharma was re-elected for the Bharatiya Janata Party, once again defeating Sharda Rathore.
Since 2014, Sharma has been representing the Ballabhgarh Vidhan Sabha constituency, contributing to various developmental initiatives aimed at the progress of Ballabhgarh city.[1][2]
