Ludvig Lindblom (12 January 1910 – 4 October 1985) was a Swedish wrestler who competed internationally in Greco-Roman wrestling. He represented Sweden at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.[1]

Early life

Lindblom was born on 12 January 1910 in Stockholm, Sweden. He began wrestling as a teenager and joined the wrestling club Djurgårdens IF, which was one of Sweden's leading sports clubs at the time.[2]

Career

Lindblom specialized in Greco-Roman wrestling and became a notable competitor in Sweden during the late 1920s and early 1930s. He earned national titles and was selected to represent Sweden at the 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games.[2]

At the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Lindblom competed in the welterweight class. Although he did not win a medal, he gained respect for his technique and sportsmanship.[3]

He returned to Olympic competition at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, where he faced strong competition from European rivals.[1]

Later life

After retiring from competition, Lindblom contributed to Swedish wrestling by coaching at Djurgårdens IF and mentoring young wrestlers. He also worked to promote the sport through local events and training programs in Stockholm.[2]

Personal life

Outside of wrestling, Lindblom worked as a physical education instructor. He lived in Stockholm until his death on 4 October 1985 at the age of 75.[1]
